The DG44-01005B is a genuine OEM Samsung surface element control switch (energy regulator / infinite switch) that turns a radiant surface element on/off and regulates heat output by cycling power to the element at a controlled duty cycle. It replaces DG44-01005A. This switch is used on select Samsung electric ranges with glass-top radiant elements and is mounted behind the control panel/console. Failures are typically worn or welded contacts (stuck on high or no heat), heat-damaged terminals from loose spade connections, internal cam wear causing poor adjustment range, or a broken shaft that makes the knob spin without control. Symptoms: burner won’t heat, burner stuck on high, heat level won’t change, intermittent heating, arcing/burning smell at the console, or a knob that feels loose/free-spinning. IMPORTANT: Match by model and burner position—Samsung may use different regulators for different element sizes/dual elements. CRITICAL: Turn off the breaker (240V) before servicing.
